Altenew - Loved

Hi friends -

today I have a new layout to share with you! It is different than my usual layouts as I used no patterned papers at all, only three word stickers from my stash and one Chipboard Thicker from the Maggie Holmes Gather Collection.
You would think that this layout is minimal and super simple but I also used a gorgoeus stamp set from Altenew for adding my own Ephemera pieces and to create my own patterned paper.

These stamps are absolutely gorgeous and quickly became my new favorites! The set is called "Vintage Roses". If you are within Europe and are looking for a place to grab Altenew sets Scrapbook Werkstatt now sells this amazing company!
You can get the set by itself here or - like I did - in the Altenew Stamp kit "Layered Rose". This stamp kit comes with the stamp set "Vintage Roses", with the set "Painted Greetings", with six mini cubes for stamping the florals (three shades of pink, two shades of green, one black) , an acrylic block and an inspiration booklet - AMAZING value for the amount of products you receive.

You can get it here at Scrapbook Werkstatt. Now let's move onto the layout, shall we?!

Loved by Laureen Wagener

DESCRIPTION: I desperatly wanted to use the the flowers from the Vintage Roses set to create my own patterned paper. I embellished with the flowers and only a few items from my stash to really keep the focus on the beautiful roses.

HOW TO: Use a piece of white smooth cardstock and stamp the roses from the stamp set like the layering guide explains. You start with the darkest color and the smallest stamp as this will later on be the most detailed part of the rose. Continue to stamp until you use the lightest color with the solid stamp. In the kit there are three shades of pink - as my darkest color I used the black ink included for the stamps that require four layers. You can also stamp the Ruby Red twice for a darker impression. Stamp out roses were you'd like them - if you want to overlap roses create a mask out of sticker or masking paper and place it over the flower you want to be "on top" and then stamp the other images behind like other flowers or leaves. Stamp more flowers onto a different piece of paper and die- cut them with coordinating dies or fuzzy cut the images. Place a strip of washi tape on your page and layer tissue paper on top for added dimension - place your "patterned paper" on top and stick it down with foam squares. Create clusters using the flowers and leaves around your picture and place your title.

Felicity Jane - I can & I will

Friends - I acutally crafted just for me, for a personal layout without having a due date or commitment! And it felt absolutely great!

I tried to make a small dent in my Felicty Jane stash and therefore I created this layout yesterday using the Felicity kit. It will function as a reminder to stay positive and will be hung on the wall beside my bed.

I can & I will by Laureen Wagener

DESCRIPTION:Trying to make a dent in my stash so I used my favorite Felicity Jane kit to date - Felicity. It is the September 2016 kit and I couldn't love the colors more! I really needed a positive reminder and so I decided to create a layout to be hung right next to my bed. Using a cut file made this page come together quit easily.

HOW TO: Chose your favorite cut file - I used one from The Cut Shoppe and modified it so it would be a Fold and Cut. If you use a Fold and Cut, fold over the shapes and use a bone folder to flatten the crease lines. Back the open spaces with lots of different patterned papers. Try to not ue the same pattern next to each other. Create lots of layers behind your picture - use patterned paper, vellum, tags or a doilie. Embellish around the picture to draw the focus on your picture. Stick down your title onto your picture if there is space left for it.

You make me happy when skies are grey | Felicity Jane

Hi there -

today I have my first project as a Design Team member for Felicity Jane!
Let me tell you - those kits are drop dead gorgeous and I love every single thing from them - I
think I couldn't even decide what I love most - even though the stamps really pull on my heart strings.

You make me happy when skies are grey by Laureen Wagener

DESCRIPTION: Ijust loved all the papers from the Felicity kit so much, that I couldn't decide which to use so I ended up paper piecing my umbrella with a bunch from the papers from the lovely kit. I had this idea with the upside down umbrella that catches hearts or stars ever since I saw a Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp a few years back and never got to create the layout until now.

HOW TO: Draw out an umbrella shape onto cardstock or transparent paper and cut out patterned paper according to the shape. Place all the papers together and pierce holes for stitching. Do a regular backstitch over the entire design. Place the umbrella facing upwards and cut out stars or hearts from the patterned papers and let them fall down into the umbrella. Use different Alphabets, Acrylic shapes or Acetate Pieces to create a long title and place your photo onto a doily and white cardstock.
Attach everything onto a piece of white cardstock and stick that to the striped paper from the kit and last but not least adhere everything onto a piece of pink cardstock from the kit.
