Felicity Jane - I can & I will

Friends - I acutally crafted just for me, for a personal layout without having a due date or commitment! And it felt absolutely great!

I tried to make a small dent in my Felicty Jane stash and therefore I created this layout yesterday using the Felicity kit. It will function as a reminder to stay positive and will be hung on the wall beside my bed.

I can & I will by Laureen Wagener

DESCRIPTION:Trying to make a dent in my stash so I used my favorite Felicity Jane kit to date - Felicity. It is the September 2016 kit and I couldn't love the colors more! I really needed a positive reminder and so I decided to create a layout to be hung right next to my bed. Using a cut file made this page come together quit easily.

HOW TO: Chose your favorite cut file - I used one from The Cut Shoppe and modified it so it would be a Fold and Cut. If you use a Fold and Cut, fold over the shapes and use a bone folder to flatten the crease lines. Back the open spaces with lots of different patterned papers. Try to not ue the same pattern next to each other. Create lots of layers behind your picture - use patterned paper, vellum, tags or a doilie. Embellish around the picture to draw the focus on your picture. Stick down your title onto your picture if there is space left for it.

You make me happy when skies are grey | Felicity Jane

Hi there -

today I have my first project as a Design Team member for Felicity Jane!
Let me tell you - those kits are drop dead gorgeous and I love every single thing from them - I
think I couldn't even decide what I love most - even though the stamps really pull on my heart strings.

You make me happy when skies are grey by Laureen Wagener

DESCRIPTION: Ijust loved all the papers from the Felicity kit so much, that I couldn't decide which to use so I ended up paper piecing my umbrella with a bunch from the papers from the lovely kit. I had this idea with the upside down umbrella that catches hearts or stars ever since I saw a Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp a few years back and never got to create the layout until now.

HOW TO: Draw out an umbrella shape onto cardstock or transparent paper and cut out patterned paper according to the shape. Place all the papers together and pierce holes for stitching. Do a regular backstitch over the entire design. Place the umbrella facing upwards and cut out stars or hearts from the patterned papers and let them fall down into the umbrella. Use different Alphabets, Acrylic shapes or Acetate Pieces to create a long title and place your photo onto a doily and white cardstock.
Attach everything onto a piece of white cardstock and stick that to the striped paper from the kit and last but not least adhere everything onto a piece of pink cardstock from the kit.

Hi there!

Today is the day - the day you can get your little scrappy fingers on the AMAZING new September kit from Scrapbook Werkstatt! It is by far my favorite kit yet - the colors, the papers, the embellishments. Everything is absolutely perfect.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why I made so many projects with it - I made 6 layouts and 3 altered projects.

Pink Paislee Guest Designer - Let's travel

Hi everyone - can someone please pinch me?!

This moment is so surreal and amazing at the same time! I am one happy girl and extremely honored and excited to be over on the Pink Paislee blog to be their guest designer for Travel Week! You can read the entire post over on the blog by clicking - here - and also read a little more about me ;)

Now first off all - how amazing is it to be guest designing for Pink Paislee? It's my dream come true!
Pink Paislee is one of my favorite scrapbook brands and I am obsessing over their blog and all the projects their team always comes up with.

Then Paige asked me at the end of July if I would like to guest design - ehm how could you say no to that?! I was jumping up and down of excitement - and it was 7 in the morning, so pretty early for me to jump around, but I really did!
And can we all just take a moment to appreciate the amazing theme of the week for my guest design - Travel! Could it be anymore perfect? I just love to travel and scrap those pictures and so it was basically a match made in heaven!

Here are the 3 layouts I made for the post along with a few close-ups.

Next up - I have my card. I actually made 4 more that I will share throughout the month!

And last but for sure not least - my altered project/ or minialbum!
I decided to bind a book - yes you read that right , a real coptic bound book with wooden covers and charms to jazz everything up and I am in love!
At first I thought it would take ages to bind but it wasn't too bad - I purchased the amazing online class from Paige {which you can get - here - } and worked alongside her and it came together rather quickly and actually looked good! I am already planning my next book to bin - because even though you may not even use them, they just look extremly pretty to display in a shelf!

Thank you so much for reading the post and a massive THANK YOU to Paige and Pink Paislee for letting me take over the blog today and be your guest designer! I had so much fun making the projects and love every single thing!

August Sketch - Scrapbook Werkstatt - Hello Summer Layout

Hi everyone - with it being the first days of a new month there are always plenty of challenges starting! Yesterday I showed you my take on the new sketch for Creative Scrappers and this time I have a new layout using the sketch made by Julia over at Scrapbook Werkstatt in the inspiration gallery.

 Hello Summer by Laureen Wagener

DESCRIPTION: I was immediatly inspired by the Sketch but first didn't know what to scrap. Then I looked at my stash and saw some stuff from the Poolside collection by Crate Paper and new I wanted to use it. Also it helped me to scrap more vacation pictures back from 2013.

HOW TO: Create a grid design according to the Sketch on your paper - I used paper strips from differen papers and adhered them down. After that I handstitched through the middle of them. Ideas for making your grid design: watercolor, colored thread for either handstitching or machinestitching, patterned paper strips, paint - like Julia did or a fun cut- file like Zsoka did! The opportunities are endless for you to get creative! After that I chose on my photos and cut them to 3x3" / 2.5"x2.5" and matted them onto patterned paper from the collection. My main picture on the right was matted onto a piece of paper with a lot of paper strips. Embellish in the spots from the Sketch using your favorite embellishments. I used a lot of cardstock stickers and cork that I punched out with circle punches. Add spray mist to finish up your layout.

SUPPLIES: Cardstock stickers, cork, small doily, buttons, patterned paper, enamel dots, tiny word stickers, cardstock: American Crafts, adhesive:American Crafts;Floss: DMC
